A VETERAN'S DAY HOMECOMING. We'd like to wish a happy homecoming to Julio & Cynthia Rodriguez after 14 months of being displaced due to Hurricane Harvey! Mr. Rodriguez is an Army veteran who has limited mobility due to an injury obtained during his time of service. The Rodriguez's home was flooded during Hurricane Harvey and was damaged to the point of disrepair, forcing them to be displaced from their residence. Sadly, during their time of displacement, looters repeatedly targeted the home stealing anything worth value including the copper wiring to the house. To make matters worse, the Rodriguez's two pet dogs were beaten to death by thieves. The Rodriguez's received FEMA assistance to rebuild, however the contractor who was paid a substantial amount of money to complete the repairs performed shoddy work and left the job unfinished. Mr. & Mrs. Rodriguez may never recover the money lost but with the help from Samaritan’s Purse U.S. Disaster Response, SBP - Brazoria County Long-Term Recovery Committee, and United Way of Brazoria County, they were able to move back into their home where they can enjoy spending time with their grandchildren! We are grateful for your service!
